I gotcha, if i made them any louder, they would have drowned out the kick and snare. they lost considerable punch if i mixed the vocals any higher. i'm just not pro enough with an eq and compressor yet.

Eight and a half minutes is a long time for the same thing over and over. I get what you're trying to do here, it's just that it's a little repettative, using the same instrument the whole time for every single part of the melody. I guess I would suggest a second synth or a trumpet or something...just anything to spice it up a little bit.

Because if you think about it, people's attention spans can't handle 8.5 minutes of anything anymore. So, nice song, good feeling, just needs a bit of a tune-up.

Quite a toe-tapper. It seems to be missing a little something, though I'm not really sure exactly what it is.
Still, it's pretty good. Kudos!

Hard-hitting, even if is a little loud. As long as the audio mixer manages to keep the vocals clear and distortion-free, I have no doubt this will boost the emotion of the rap.
